Although you'll be working remotely, you will regularly engage with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including social workers, psychiatrists, and counselors, to foster coordinated care for our clients. • Conduct thorough and comprehensive assessments of clients to identify their mental health needs and tailor individualized treatment plans that align with their unique circumstances.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic services using a variety of approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy, depending on client requirements.
• Collaborate with presenting specialists, such as case managers and psychiatrists, to ensure holistic care is maintained for clients, facilitating smooth transitions between different modes of support.
• Utilize your skills in crisis intervention to provide immediate support to clients facing acute distress, ensuring their safety and offering compassionate care during critical moments.
• Participate in community outreach programs designed to educate the public about mental health issues, promote awareness, and reduce stigma associated with seeking help.

The primary clientele you will support include individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. Haywood Counseling Center is dedicated to addressing the needs of marginalized and underserved populations, which may range from children and adolescents to adults and families. Through your work, you will enhance your cultural competence and develop skills necessary to effectively communicate and connect with clients from diverse settings.

• A valid and active independent license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A completed master’s degree or doctoral degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to establish rapport, foster therapeutic relationships, and promote trust with clients.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity when working with individuals from varied backgrounds, ensuring inclusive treatment methods.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation and treatment records in a timely and efficient manner.

• Experience in community mental health settings is highly advantageous, offering insight into the unique challenges faced by clients in these environments.
• Familiarity with remote counseling software and online therapy platforms such as Telehealth, enabling effective participation in virtual therapy sessions.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices relevant to working with vulnerable populations.
