Plumber - Full-Time/Union

Reports To: General Foreperson/Plumbing Foreperson

What You'll Do
  • From blueprints, drawings, models or verbal instruction, performs general plumbing including the assembling, installation and repair of water and drainage pipes, fittings and fixtures using a variety of hand and power tool and standard measuring instruments. Makes standard shop computations relating to dimension of work. Selects materials necessary for the work.
  • Performs general laborer work as requested.
  • Assists the Oceans of Fun Maintenance Foreman as needed.
  • Responds to the requests of the Assistant Director of Maintenance and the Facilities General Foreman.
  • Provides guest service according to Worlds of Fun standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Worlds of Fun Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Worlds if Fun's attendance requirements as outlined in Enchanted Parks' attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Enchanted Parks' Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum age: 18
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5-7 Years Related Experience commerical plumbing
  • Must have Valid Drivers License to operate company vehicles
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate not only with senior management but also with seasonal employees in resolving problems. Communicates with individuals both inside and outside the company.

  • Basic analytical skills necessary to organize work load to establish priorities.

  • Ability to become familiar with and use fall protection equipment.

  • Ability to read materials (including blueprints and drawings) to interpret and analyze content.

  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 75% of work activities.

  • Walking and standing on concrete and asphalt for extended periods of time.

  • Possible exposure to gasoline, galvanizing paint, chlorine, caustic soda, drain cleaners, natural gas and propane
  • Vision: Required for visual inspection of parts and to detect leaks or other plumbing problems.
  • Hearing: Required to detect the sound of water running and plumbing fixtures operating improperly.
  • Sense of Smell: Required to detect fumes (including natural gas), odors and chemicals.
  • Sense of Touch: Must be able to sense resistance when using hand tools.
  • Ability to work at heights: Must be able to climb to and work at a height of 100 feet when assisting with the inspection of water attractions and buildings.
  • Requires ability to operate:
    • Standard hand tools required for the job
    • Vehicles
    • Ladders
    • Measuring equipment, dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers
    • Telephones
    • Hand-held two-way radios
