The Certified Surgical Tech (CST Tier I) is a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while patients are in surgery at Union Health Regional OR staff serve an essential function in supporting surgeons, preparing the surgical environment, and ensuring patient safety throughout every procedure.
This role reports to the Operating Room Leadership Team / Surgical Services Management.

Union Health provides a supportive onboarding experience where CSTs are trained alongside experienced surgical professionals. Team members are empowered to grow their skills through structured orientation, mentorship, and an inclusive environment focused on safety and teamwork.

Essential Job Duties:

-  Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures
-  Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments and equipment
-  Assist the surgical team during procedures
-  Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and nurses
-  Maintain aseptic conditions and infection control protocols
-  Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team
-  Handle specimens and facilitate transfer to the laboratory
-  Clean and restock the operating room after each surgery
-  Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety
 

Qualifications:

-  Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
-  Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced setting
-  Commitment to patient safety and teamwork
 

Licenses / Certifications:

-  Must have graduated from an accredited surgical technology program

-  Active CST certification required
-  Active BLS certification required
