  • Must participate in Teamster Union
  • Valid TWIC Card Required
  • Valid Driver's License Required
Related Work Experience
One (1) to Two (2) years of experience in the maritime industry preferred
JOB SUMMARY
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
The position facilitates the safe and effective operations of Port Wilmington, through full time day patrol of the port's facilities. This position will perform a broad range of activities depending on the needs of the port and department.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Patrols Port Wilmington grounds to maintain traffic control, detect criminal violations, and detect safety hazards.
  • Ensure the facility is provided with high-quality security services to protect people and property
  • Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.
  • Make frequent inspections of all Port facilities, including parking areas, offices, warehouses, piers, and rail areas
  • Works closely with the United States Coast Guard and Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies.
  • Records details of patrol
  • Escort visitors, oversize vehicles, and equipment from gates to the destination on the property as necessary.
  • Assist at Port of entry gates
  • Mandatory overtime is required as needed
  • Must participate in overtime as needed to maintain effective and efficient patrol operations.
  • Required to perform shift work which will include days, but could also include evenings and nights, including weekends and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as required
