As a Custodian Floor Technician II, your role involves specialized tasks related to floor care and maintenance. Here are some key aspects of the job:

Floor Care and Cleaning:

  • You use specialized equipment and chemicals to clean, repair, and refinish floors.
  • Tasks include waxing, buffing, and maintaining hard surfaces.
  • You may also vacuum or shampoo carpeted areas.

Work Environment:

  • You can work for cleaning services or as part of the custodial staff in public buildings, long-term care centers, hospitals, or similar facilities.
  • Your responsibilities extend to various types of flooring, including tile, hardwood, and carpet.

Stripping and Refinishing: You perform more complex restoration tasks, such as stripping and finishing floors (both elastic and non-elastic).

Carpet Extraction: You handle carpet cleaning using extraction methods.
