Where Potential Meets Purpose: Spees Design Build

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to join our growing A/E team in Bremerton, WA. In this role, you will work directly with our Lead Mechanical Engineer and department leaders across the firm.

At Spees Design Build, we value technical excellence, and client-focused collaboration, to deliver service-oriented design solutions. This position offers the opportunity to shape high-impact projects that improve critical infrastructure and public-sector facilities across the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 1 to 4+ years of experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Experience coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with HVAC load calculation software.
  • EIT license is a plus.
  • Trace 700 experience is a plus.
  • Familiar with state and federal codes and industry standards.
  • LEED or WELL certification is a plus.
  • Leadership or management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with federal design work and federal projects is a plus.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical design tasks, including:
  • HVAC load calculations
  • Verifying compliance with building codes, energy codes, and various standards.
  • Design calculations
  • Space planning and equipment layouts
  • Designing ductwork and piping systems
  • Specification editing and review
  • Visit project sites to gather design information and document existing conditions.
  • Must be thorough and focused on design details.
  • Must be comfortable with and proficient at communication with the internal design team and the client.
  • Have a willingness to assist with any required tasks.
  • Take ownership of the mechanical design scope of work for a project and ensure all project requirements are achieved.
  • Participate in activities and organizations related to our industry outside of daily business routines and develop peer relationships and technical growth.

Essential Functions:

  • Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Occasional travel to various project sites for field investigation and construction inspection (20%)
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required

Salary Range
