Job Summary

The Plumbing Service Technician - Journeyman is responsible for performing commercial plumbing service, repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance in support of the Plumbing Service Manager, Project Managers, and Plumbing Foreman. This role requires independent execution of assigned work while maintaining safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform service, repair, replacement, and installation of commercial plumbing systems and equipment. Service and maintain grease traps, oil/gas separators, drainage systems, and related equipment. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and complete required documentation and reporting. Accurately complete service tickets, plumber reports, and job documentation as required. Respond to tenant service requests including restroom repairs, drain cleaning, and sewer line maintenance using motorized equipment. Respond to emergency service calls as required, including after-hours support. Work safely at all times and ensure safe working conditions are maintained at job sites. Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and job hazard requirements. Communicate effectively with customers, Foremen, Project Managers, and Service Management regarding job status and findings. Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle in a clean and professional condition.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or plumbing apprenticeship. 3+ years of Journeyman-level experience in commercial or industrial plumbing environments. This is a San Francisco Bay Area Local Union position. Journeyman Plumber certification required; Backflow Prevention Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months. Proven knowledge of applicable plumbing codes, regulations, and ordinances. Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, plans, and drawings. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Valid driver's license required and must meet company MVR requirements.
