Position Description
Division: Brannan Construction Company
Position: Pipe Layer lvl 2
Reports To: Project Superintendent
FLSA Status: Full Time
Location: Various Denver Metro Locations
Pay Range: $31.00 - $35.00
Sign on Bonus: $1,500.00
Position Summary:
Supports the pipe crew by doing whatever is necessary to perform safe and efficient pipe installation. Assists in any equipment maintenance when requested and learns to operate equipment as needed/desired. Maintains a positive attitude on the job site and communicates to the Foreman any obstacles impeding safe production and superior performance and quality.
Functional Responsibilities:
  • Follow instructions from the Foreman to deliver pipe work that meets Brannan's quality standards
  • Prepares work area for safe / uniform pipe installation
  • Maintains clean entrance to the jobsite
  • Connects pipe properly
  • Establishes and maintains proper line and grade
  • Signals for proper bedding amount
  • Puts bedding to proper grade
  • Proactively communicates with the customer and other Brannan team members to maximize quality and efficiency
  • Proactively identifies key job conditions such as grade and soft spots
  • Asks for help in areas of limited knowledge and/or experience
  • Has a "can-do" attitude when job-site difficulties arise

Position Requirements
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years previous experience in underground utility installation
  • General knowledge of underground utility work
  • Track record of performing similar tasks safely and accurately
  • Ability to take direction from the Foreman and provide support to peers
  • Maintain dependability and responsibility to be at work on time
  • Must have flexibility to work nights and weekends

Physical Requirements:
  • Standing - 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Walking - 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Bending/Stooping - 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping) - 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Lifting (weights up to 100 lbs.) - Occasionally
  • Lift and Carry (50/60 lbs. for 20 feet) - Regularly
  • Push / Pull - 8 to 10 hours daily
