Job description

JOB SUMMARY
This position assists Credit Union members with mortgage loan products and proactively solicits mortgage business from realtors, relocation specialists, key community partners and members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
May include any and/or all of the following:
  1. Actively listen and respond to member inquiries, suggestions, requests, and concerns.
  2. Recommend mortgage loan products to members and take applications.
  3. Proactively elevate mortgage business volume in the market by building rapport with key community leaders and real estate professionals; by employing systems for follow-up and process management; and by serving members in a manner that prompts them to promote and repeat business.
  4. Aggressively increase the volume by building rapport with key corporate and real estate professionals; by employing systems for follow-up and process management; and by serving members in a manner that prompts them to promote and repeat business.
  5. Successfully register with NMLS annually.
  6. Successfully complete all applicable compliance training and testing.
  7. Work with VP, Mortgage Sales & Development and Assistant Manager, Sales and Development to identify trends, product enhancements and process improvements in order to capture a greater share of the business.
  8. Work with departmental personnel to ensure mortgage applications generated through business development activities are processed and closed effectively.
  9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

      • Mortgage Lending functions including policies, practices, and standards

      • Credit Union operations, procedures, products, services, philosophies, practices, and systems

QUALIFICATIONS
Critical Development Experiences:
Pursue opportunities for professional growth and development through training, education and self-study
Successfully complete all applicable compliance training and testing
Education and experience equivalent to:
Experience with Federal Housing Authority FHA, Veterans Affairs VA, and Freddie Mac, construction loans, bridge loans and reverse mortgage loans
Incumbents are required to maintain their registration active, and current, with the National Mortgage Licensing System throughout their employment
REQUIREMENTS
Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions of this position. While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for a significant period of time and perform functions that require manual dexterity. The employee must occasionally reach above or below normal body position, stoop or bend, and carry, lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. A normal range of hearing, vision, and speech are required to effectively work with co-employees and members.

Follows regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance related Policies. This position also requires maintaining confidentiality with regard to non-public information about our members and the Credit Union.
This position requires registration on an annual basis with the NMLS registry.
