Job description

Our polymer manufacturing plant in Birdsboro, PA is looking for a Production Operator to support plant operations.ย ย Arkema in Birdsboro has around 65 employees but we are part of larger organization with over 21,000 employees worldwide. We call this the "small company feel with large company resources." Arkema is a global leader in Specialty Materials serving major societal and ecological challenges. Arkema affiliates operating in the U.S. include Arkema Inc.; Bostik, Inc.; ArrMaz and Coatex Inc with 43 sites, including 37 manufacturing facilities, and employ 3,600 people in the U.S.ย 

Major highlights regarding employment as a Production Operator:ย 

Wage: $31.02/hr to start plus $.90 for 2nd shift and $1.15 for 3rd shift.ย 

Shift:ย 8hrs each shift, rotates weekly between 1st, 2nd, 3rd;

Schedule:ย 5-7 days in a row with daysย off in-between rotations

Overtime:ย average of 4-8 hours weekly, paid for over 8 hours worked in a day and over 40 weekly

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Operate packaging equipment and maintain daily packaging process efficiencies
  • Transferย raw materials
  • Transferย finished materials between warehouses
  • Housekeeping
  • Assist emptying finished product out of industrial dryers
  • Comply with all technical, quality control, product manufacturing and safety procedures associated with Packaging
  • Operate equipment for variousย processing systems
  • Operate powered industrial trucks
  • Have physical dexterity in climbing stairs, ladders, heavy lifting
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Other operator assistance tasks and general duties as needed and assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must demonstrate basic math skills
  • Must be willing to be subject to pre-employment testing including drug and alcohol and physical testing.
  • Preferย experience inย manufacturing type of work andย chemical plant production experience strongly desired; similar skills/experience will be considered.
  • Preferย fork lift (tow motor) experience
  • Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime
