Compliance & Deposit Operations Manager

Mutual 1st Federal Credit Union is seeking a detail oriented, driven, and well-organized leader to join our leadership team in the Compliance & Deposit Operations Manager role. We serve over 11,000 members in the Omaha Metro area and this position serves an integral role in protecting our members assets.
Role Description:
The Compliance and Deposit Operations Manager is responsible for the seamless operation of the company's day-to-day deposit, account opening, and internal audit activities to mitigate risk to the organization. The incumbent serves as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer and manages all aspects of the BSA/AML compliance program. This role will work collaboratively with management and staff throughout the organization to ensure process adherence and communication on evolving compliance issues.
Essential Functions:
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to managers to resolve technical operational questions and concerns. This includes but is not limited to; core operating system functionality, card products, reward products, IRA's, HSA's, ITM's, Business Accounts, Shared Branching, Account opening, Remote Deposit Capture, and Mobile and Online Banking.
  • Partner with Executives and Managers on product development, service enhancements, training, risk management, procedure development, and process improvement.
  • Lead defined operational initiatives and projects to include detailed project plans and end-to-end execution for on-time delivery.
  • As the BSA Officer, incumbent is responsible for carrying out Board direction, including the implementation of the credit union's BSA/AML policies, procedures, and processes. Responsible for FinCen filings including, but not limited to, CTR's and SAR's.
  • Ensure the credit union is in compliance with defined laws (Federal and State) and applicable regulations. Will work directly with external auditors and regulators.
  • Facilitate the delivery of compliance training and identify, develop, administer, and report on internal audit protocols.
  • Conduct time sensitive investigations of potential internal and external fraud including but not limited to; new account fraud, check fraud, online fraud, theft, forgery, identity theft, and elder abuse. Manage fraud cases and losses and provide fraud prevention training and resources.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Experience, Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Three to Five years of similar or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
  • Certified Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist designation; highly preferred.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others is a material part of the job.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union Law and Regulations
  • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate sound business practices
  • Knowledgeable of electronic banking equipment, video security systems, electronic funds, and transfer technology.
  • Ability to coach and train staff and managers at their level.
  • Solid knowledge of financial concepts, products, and services in a financial environment.
  • Professional verbal and written communication and presence.
