About the Role
As a CBRE Union Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, reliability, and performance of building systems and critical infrastructure for a major telecommunications client. This role focuses on ensuring operational continuity across highly sensitive environments where uptime and system performance are essential.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, which is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
You will primarily support critical sites, which may include data centers, network operations centers (NOCs), switching facilities, and other mission-critical telecommunications infrastructure where outages could significantly impact business operations and connectivity.
What You'll Do
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore technical service issues across building systems and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Support critical site operations, including data centers and network facilities, ensuring maximum system uptime and reliability.
  • Address major network and equipment issues that impact multiple business locations, network elements, or cause site outages.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including maintenance schedules, system configurations, and technical records.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist with instrument calibration processes to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Participate in and support user training for system updates and enhancements; develop training materials as needed.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Guide and mentor team members, sharing expertise across engineering disciplines.
  • Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values and helping drive team alignment and collaboration.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of relevant experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a diploma.
  • Prior shift lead, union environment, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Universal EPA Certification required.
  • Experience supporting critical environments such as data centers, telecommunications infrastructure, or similar high-availability facilities preferred.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. or more.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and act on information from multiple sources.
  • Willingness to approach challenges with new perspectives and solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
