Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Assist with installation and maintenance (mechanical, refrigeration, carpentry, etc.); maintain buildings and grounds in a clean and acceptable manner. This position would work 40+ hours per week in Maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with installation and maintenance (refrigeration, mechanical, carpentry, etc.)
Provide general maintenance department assistance.
Maintain buildings and grounds in a clean and acceptable manner.
Detect and report faulty operations, materials and working conditions to supervisor.
Use safety equipment as instructed. Follow safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain work area, equipment and tools in clean orderly condition.
Promote 5S concept of order and housekeeping.
Perform other duties and cross-train as required or assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic math skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Requires the ability to operate forklift and material handling equipment.
Knowledge of company procedures for storage, handling and shipment of
hazardous waste to comply with government regulations. Training will be
included upon assignment to such duties.
Basic welding skills.
Clean driving record.
General working knowledge of all aspects of industrial maintenance. Good
mechanical and construction aptitude.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical fitness to perform all functions of designated work areas. This includes small tool use, full arm and leg range of motion, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, work in awkward positions, talking and hearing.
Employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35#, frequently lift
and/or move up to 50#.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
