Primary Responsibilities

  • Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare job sites, including setting up scaffolding and mixing mortar.
  • Lay bricks, blocks, or other masonry units with accuracy and attention to alignment.
  • Cut and shape materials to fit corners, arches, and irregular spaces.
  • Finish joints, clean excess mortar, and ensure structural integrity.
  • Perform masonry repairs and repointing work as needed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.
  • As a Bricklayer, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing walls, partitions, fireplaces, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials.
  • Install new CMU, brick and stone.

Requirements:

  • Must either be a member or be willing and able to join the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Union (BAC) Local 23.
  • 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Must reside within 60 miles of Cleveland, Ohio (e.g., Brunswick, Massillon, Parma, Akron, Niles, -- the greater Cleveland area).
  • Must possess and maintain the following certifications:

o A valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID.
o A current drug-free card.
o OSHA 10 certification or 30 hours training. (Note: These certifications can be obtained through union training facilities upon joining the BAC.)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to use tape and level.
