Role: Data Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA - On-Site ( Hybrid)
Position Description (General role information, job purpose, main objectives of the role)
Marketing Data Engineer will be primarily working on Customer Data Platform (CDP) implementation project, responsible for product evaluations, POC's, configurations & implementation, on-going maintenance, evolution and leading the end-to-end execution of Marketing use cases/projects powered by CDP. This position will act as a single point of contact to field all the requirements coming from the Marketing business unit to architect and deliver analytical use cases to help answer business problems and enable Client Senior Leadership to make data-driven decisions as it relates to Digital Guest Experience & Marketing.
This role is a hands-on technical SME opportunity who will be designing software and services at scale and deliver creative, compelling solutions in the cloud that are cost-effective, reliable, and stable to build Business insight derivation applications on Marketing data sets.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Scope of the role, day-to-day activities, expected outcomes, highlights any complexities associated with the role)
• Help support evaluation of Customer Data Platforms (CDPs)
• Conduct Business Requirements workshops with Marketing Business teams and document them as User Stories in Azure DevOps backlogs
• Collaborate on standards and governance of Client's next-gen CDP platform to enable a federated contribution model across multiple delivery teams
• Use Test and Learn approach to assess the fitment of Microsoft Customer Insights platform for Client
• Hands-on coding/configuration in support of Customer Data Platform implementation for Client and its on-going maintenance and product evolution
• Integrate Customer Data Platform (CDP) with Enterprise Azure Cloud Data Lake using industry best practice
• Integrate CDP with Web and Mobile applications
• Custodian of Data Collection and ingestion into Customer Data Platform, standardization, unification and segmentation of customer profiles
• Lead Proof Of Concepts (POC) for Tealium, Blueshift, Bloomreach, Segment CDP products
• Ingest Google Analytics data into CDP
• Ingest MongoDB data into CDP
• Partner with Marketing business unit to help CDP power marketers create targeted personalized marketing campaigns
• Work with Marketing Product Owners and Stakeholders to gather data requirements and deliver data products in a collaborative and agile environment
• Engineer and performance tune ETL jobs to move data from a variety of source systems and file types to fit into dimensional data models
• Work with Offshore Azure Cloud developer for translating Business Requirements in to Technical specifications and develop the Azure Data Ingestion pipelines
Work Experience/ Education: (Required work experience and education / preferred experience and education that is beneficial to the role. Work experience can include management experience or any functional expertise where proficiency is necessary to be successful in the role)
Work Experience:
    • Minimum 4 years of experience working in IT department with Data & Analytics responsibilities
    • 2+ years of hands-on programming experience (SQL, Python, Scala, Java, etc.,)
    • Recent 2+ years of experience working as Sr. Data Engineer on Azure Cloud Platforms

Work Experience: (continued)
    • 1+ years of experience working on Data and Analytics projects in support of Marketing/Loyalty/Digital Customer Experience Use Cases
    • 2+ years of experience working with Google Analytics
    • 1+ years of experience working or at least exposure on any Customer Data Platform (e.g. Microsoft CI, Segment, Tealium, Treasure Data, Informatica, Exponea, SalesForce CDP, etc.,)
    • Experience working on Data & Analytics projects using Agile methodologies
    • Previous Retail, Convenience Store/Petroleum industry experience a plus
    • Previous experience working with Punchh Loyalty platform data is a huge plus

Education:
    • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information technology with specialization in Data & Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering or related fields.
    • Any one of the generic Cloud Platform certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.,)
    • Any one of the Data & Analytics certifications (Azure Fundamentals AZ-900, DP-200: Implementing an Azure Data Solution, DP-201: Designing an Azure Data Solution, DP-203: Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure, etc.,)
