About our Company:

SPG Wholesale LLC is a rapidly growing, and successful property and casualty insurance wholesaler and manages general agency based in Garland, TX with other SPG Wholesale branches throughout the US. We sell exclusively to retail agencies across the country with a focus on small to mid-market E&S commercial and specialty personal lines risks.

About the Position:

The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent customer service skills and serve as a technical resource to a large and growing binding and brokerage team. Successful applicants will work with the in-house Underwriter(s) partnered with the carriers and retail agents to request and review underwriting information for processing of placement of coverage, invoicing, rating & processing endorsements, assisting with preparation of quotes and obtaining accurate state compliance documents.

Responsibilities of Underwriting Assistant:

  • Bind/invoice placement of coverage, rate and process endorsements with invoicing, audits, and other documents according to established departmental procedures with accuracy, efficiency, and meeting compliance standards.

  • Issuance of policies through our Binding Carriers portals, and distribution to our retail agent.

  • Order /review inspections as required by our Carrier Guidelines or when required by the Underwriter

  • Prepare accounts for renewals within image right, pulling loss runs, requesting when needed updated applications and bringing forward audits - inspections from expiring file

  • Position will work towards quoting within an assigned limit authority, renewals to our agency partners within 45 days of expiration date

  • Act as liaison between clients and the underwriter to obtain missing information, status of quote/bind, and/or other requests for information.

  • State SL compliance documentation handling.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Underwriting Assistant:

  • High School graduate required; College courses preferred.

  • Previous workexperience in the fields of insurance underwriting, customer service, with a successful track record of at least 5 years or more.

  • Positive attitude and enjoy helping others through frequent phone and email communication.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of adaptability to meet the needs of various situations.

  • Strong organization skills, with a high level of detail orientation.

  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel and various rating portals.

Compensation:

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $19 to $28 an hour and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience, and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope, and level.
