If you are a hard-working, motivated and intellectually driven professional with a passion for commercial real estate (CRE) and finance, Freddie Mac Multifamily is the employer for you! The nation's greatest and most innovative secondary market Multifamily mortgage lender and issuer of securitized fixed-income with an annual platform exceeding $80 billion is looking to add a Multifamily Underwriting Professional to the Targeted Affordable Housing team.

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system, and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

Your Impact:
  • You will build toward credit approval and closing individual mortgage loans collateralized by multifamily properties

  • Accurately review and ensure concise, complete, and clear Investment Briefs and ensureaccuratedata quality for loan securitization

  • Analyze and conclude on unique affordable housing pro forma property financial statement considerations, resolve transactional issues that escalate in third party report, work with Producers to structure deals, review borrower financial position, market analysis, property inspections, present deals for approval as needed

  • Develop resolutions to problems of limited scope following specific and detailed procedures

Qualifications:
  • 2 - 4 years of related professional experience, preferably in multifamily or commercial real estate finance

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Keys to Success in this Role:
  • Ability to manage 2 transactions independently at a given time and drive to 90% to 100% completion

  • Has a good knowledge of credit policy, procedures and systems

  • Demonstrates ability to lead Optigo Lender calls

  • Tackle and effectively complete additional tasks and assignments at the request of Senior Underwriters and above

  • Experience underwriting 80% of TAH products

  • Ability to underwrite and assist on other Specialty Products

  • Raises issues in a timely fashion and makes recommendations on how to resolve issues rather than waiting on what to be told to do

  • Consensus among Underwriting Managers and Senior Underwriters that underwriter has the capacity to effectively operate at the Professional level

  • Work product exhibits minimal errors

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $108,000 - $160,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
