The idealcandidate for theย Consumer Underwriterย position will have the skills and experience necessary to:ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist in reviewing, analyzing, underwriting within system,ย evaluatingย and providing recommendations for approving or denying consumer, credit card, mortgage residential and construction loan applications according to the company's guidelines, business and credit standards as well as applicable laws and regulations.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Review documents and forms within system.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist Underwriting to review and analyze income, assets, credit documentation, credit reports, salary and employment history, debt ratios and loan to value information to determine a borrower'sย credit-worthiness.ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  May also evaluate the value of the subject property.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  May recommend terms of loan for underwriter review.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Gather information as necessary to make sound decisions.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Respond to affiliate banks, loan center and branch personnel on lending decisions and issues.ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  May recommend exceptions based on findings.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Recommend applications for risk review by elevating concerns to an underwriter and by following policies and procedures.ย ย

Qualifications:ย ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Requires anย associatesย degree and some experience with consumer or mortgage associated lending, credit reports and documentation or other directly related experience.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet qualification.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Basic knowledge of consumer/mortgage credit, credit reports, lending and underwriting concepts,ย practicesย and procedures.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to review and analysis income, assets, credit documentation, credit reports, debt ratios and loan to value information.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to consumer lending.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to make sound decisions.ย ย
