Wayne, IN**. The **Senior Underwriter** operates at an intermediate level of underwriting skill and difficulty and will work independently under moderate direction from their assigned Underwriting Team Leader. The Underwriter will operate within its assigned intermediate level of Underwriting Authority to evaluate, qualify and rate individual insurance applications/ supporting documentation for assigned underwriting files to determine the acceptability of risk factors on behalf of the carrier. This individual is expected to maintain a high level of accuracy within their work product. The Underwriter will also contribute toward the achievement of the companyโ€™s premium and profitability goals as defined by its underwriting leader**How You Will Contribute*** Underwrite standard level of new and renewal accounts in accordance with all applicable guidelines and procedures.* Moderate contribution toward the achievement of American Specialtyโ€™s premium and profitability objectives.* Evaluate clientโ€™s entire range of exposures (general liability, excess/umbrella, property, and automobile) ensuring each exposure has been properly assessed.* Ensure effective, comprehensive approaches are developed, recommended, and implemented to address the exposures.
