We are seeking a Public Entity Underwriter to join our Municipality and Transit team. In this role, you will play a critical part in underwriting complex accounts, building strong client relationships, and driving growth within our Public Entity Risk Solutions (PERS) division.

Underwriting Responsibilities:

In this position you will:

* Underwrite in accordance with division guidelines and philosophy.
* Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with appropriate contacts at existing and prospective client and production sources.
* Respond to and find solutions to client business needs with underwriter(s) and management distinguishing MRSNA's business and products from competitors.
* Assist management in the development of new or potential business clients.
* Become proficient in the handling of larger, more complex accounts.
* Research and communicate to personnel matters relating to Public Entity Risk Solutions (PERS) issues.
* Exhibit a high degree of market awareness and provide consistent input to management on market activities.
* Possess a clear understanding of our underwriting and pricing guidelines to ensure appropriate risk-reward decision-making.
* Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all tools and models used in the underwriting process.
* Maintain compliance with Corporate and Divisional underwriting guidelines.
* Be a team player in support of all PERS and MRSNA objectives.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess the following experience/skills/qualifications:

* Experienced underwriter with deep industry knowledge
* 7+ years of experience in insurance, broker community, underwriting and/ or corporate risk market.
* Relationship selling skills
* Creativity and flexibility
* Effective Time Management and organizational skills
* Superior communication skills, written and verbal
* Excellent computer skills


The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Chicago (IL), Philadelphia (PA), Atlanta (GA), Hartford (CT), New York (NY) and Princeton (NJ). The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. The offer will be adjusted per geography.

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $138,400 - $230,700, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).

The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the NYC job market. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
