Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Micro Trench Operator to support underground fiber optic construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating 16”–26” microtrenching equipment, slurry backfill systems, and related underground construction equipment in fast-paced telecom environments.

This position plays a critical role in fiber optic pathway installation, trench restoration, and maintaining production and safety standards on active jobsites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate microtrenching equipment, including Ditch Witch and similar fiber installation systems
  • Perform precise trench cutting while maintaining proper depth and alignment
  • Operate stand-on slurry hopper machines for trench backfill and restoration
  • Coordinate with vac truck operators and support crews during excavation and installation activities
  • Install fiber optic pathways, conduit, and microduct systems
  • Read and interpret construction prints, utility maps, and job specifications
  • Follow utility locating requirements and safe excavation practices
  • Maintain equipment and report mechanical issues as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and production goals
  • Support general underground telecom construction activities when needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices while operating equipment according to Pramira’s safety standards.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years old, have a valid driver license with clean driving record
  • Self-motivated with ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Experience operating 16”–26” micro trenching equipment
  • Knowledge of slurry backfill and restoration operations
  • Understanding of underground utility awareness and safe excavation practices
  • Experience with fiber optic construction and conduit installation
  • Ability to work in production-based construction environments
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must pass a Drug Test & Background Check

Additional Information

Pay range: $25-$28/hr. DOE
