Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Pramira Inc. is seeking an experienced Underground Construction Foreman to lead field crews performing underground fiber optic construction. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with underground telecom construction and a solid understanding of the complete fiber installation process, including proofing, fiber blowing, fiber placement, and fiber splicing.

The Foreman will be responsible for supervising crews, coordinating daily field activities, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently, and maintaining quality standards throughout the project.

.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and supervise crews performing underground fiber optic construction.
  • Perform and oversee trenching, conduit installation, potholing, excavation, backfilling, and restoration.
  • Perform and oversee conduit proofing to ensure pathways are ready for fiber installation.
  • Perform and oversee fiber blowing and fiber placement.
  • Perform and/or understand fiber splicing and fiber termination.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, prints, and fiber route maps.
  • Coordinate daily work activities, crew assignments, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure proper installation of conduit, innerduct, fiber optic cable, vaults, handholes, and related infrastructure.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate and oversee the safe operation of construction equipment.
  • Identify and resolve field issues and communicate project needs to management.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, production records, and documentation.
  • Ensure crews follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with project management, inspectors, customers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Train and mentor crew members on proper construction and fiber installation practices.
  • Maintain productivity and ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of underground telecommunications/fiber construction experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Foreman or Lead supervising underground construction crews.
  • Strong knowledge of underground fiber optic construction.
  • Hands-on experience with fiber splicing is required.
  • Experience with fiber blowing and fiber placement is required.
  • Experience with proofing conduit and underground pathways is required.
  • Strong understanding of trenching, conduit installation, potholing, backfilling, vaults, handholes, and restoration.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, prints, and specifications.
  • Experience operating construction equipment such as skid steers, excavators, loaders, and other underground construction equipment.
  • Ability to lead a crew, assign work, monitor production, and maintain quality.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding field work.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • OSHA and/or industry safety certifications are a plus.

Must pass a Drug Test & Background Check

Additional Information

Pay range: $25-$30/hr. DOE
