We Need a Locator Who's Done This Before - Many Times

GCS Group is hiring an Experienced Telecom HDD Locator for our Red Deer operations. We're not posting this role because we need someone to learn on the job. We're posting it because our project volume demands a locator who brings years of real-world HDD experience, deep familiarity with SubSite equipment, and the judgment to handle complex bores in congested utility corridors without missing a beat.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own all locate functions on telecom HDD bores - no hand-holding required
  • Operate SubSite locating systems with full proficiency across challenging site conditions
  • Serve as the primary communication link between locating and Ditch Witch drill operations
  • Lead pre-bore utility verification and coordinate with one-call and potholing where required
  • Catch and communicate problems early - grade issues, utility proximity, bore deviation
  • Maintain thorough bore logs and as-built field records
  • Set the tone for how locating gets done on site - safely, accurately, and professionally

Experience & Qualifications

  • Years of hands-on HDD locating experience on telecom or underground utility projects
  • Expert-level operation of SubSite locating equipment in varied conditions
  • Extensive experience working alongside Ditch Witch HDD drill crews
  • All certifications fully current - confirmed before hire, non-negotiable
  • Recognized on past crews for reliability, accuracy, and professionalism
