Job description

Option Excavating is hiring an experienced Mini Excavator / Skid Steer Operator to join our growing earthworks division. We're looking for operators comfortable working in tight quarters on commercial and civil sites, with experience in small-scale excavation, backfill, and site prep work.
Responsibilities
Operate mini excavators, skid steers, and related attachments safely and efficiently.
Excavate, backfill, and grade to required elevations in confined and congested work areas.
Assist with underground utility installation, service trenching, and hand-exposure work.
Move and place materials, load trucks, and support crews on site.
Work closely with gradepersons, labourers, and foremen.
Perform daily equipment inspections and report deficiencies.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Assist with maintaining productive and safe job sites.
Qualifications
Experience operating mini excavators and skid steers in civil or commercial construction.
Knowledge of trench safety and excavation practices.
Ability to work accurately around existing utilities, structures, and in tight access areas.
Comfortable operating a range of attachments (buckets, breakers, augers, grapples, brooms).
Ability to load trucks safely and efficiently.
Valid driver's licence, Class 5 minimum.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
