Job description

The Poker Dealer is responsible for creating an entertaining environment for all guests while serving as a dealer during his/her shift. A Poker Dealer's full attention and concentration must be directed toward the poker games at hand.  Poker Dealers are expected to provide a professional and courteous service experience to all guests.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proficient in English verbal and written
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • At least 2 years poker dealing experience is required and/or successful completion of a Poker Dealer training program offered by the company
  • Must possess strong money handling and documentation skills
  • Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission, with access to the vessel required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Visually acuity-distinguish colors, shapes etc
  • Ability to tolerate temperature variations
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, and stretch repetitively
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to bright/flashing lights
  • Ability to tolerate fast-paced, high pressure environment
  • Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion to a seated position for extended periods
  • Must be able to tolerate large crowds/high traffic
  • Ability to tolerate temperature variations
  • Must be able to communicate in a loud environment.
  • Ability to work in a smoking and noisy environment
  • Maintains an upbeat personality for all interactions with guests and fellow employees
  • Provide prompt, accurate, and courteous service to players.
  • Deals and runs the game at hand, in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Maintains the pace of the poker game.
  • Responsible for the table tray bank.
  • Handles financial transactions at the poker game.
  • May be asked to work as a proposition player to assist in generating business demand of tables.
  • Responsible for conducting him/herself in a professional manner as a dealer.
  • Possesses a thorough working knowledge of the various poker games and a willingness to learn all necessary games offered in the poker room.
  • Routinely strives to build and maintain rapport with customers by handling disputes and making every effort to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Proactive in anticipating customer needs and identifying situations that may require management's attention.
  • Must be motivated in becoming familiar with all guests.
  • Must possess money handling skills in providing chips for guests or dealers.
  • Must maintain a basic knowledge of other games and services offered at this property.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Poker Management Team.
  • May deal in WSOP Tournament Events
  • ROP $ $7.50/hr (Game Knowledge) + Tokes
