The Umoja Community Education Foundation (Umoja) is a Nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to a community of educators and learners committed to the academic success, personal growth, and self-actualization of African Americans and other students. The Umoja Community seeks to educate the whole student-body, mind, and spirit. Informed by an ethic of love and its vital power, the Umoja Community deliberately engages students as full participants in constructing knowledge and critical thought. About the Role
The Regional Coordinator - Northern and Southern California plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation and success of Umoja Community programs across the region. This is a hybrid position that involves both remote and on-site work.
The Regional Coordinator is responsible for building relationships with community colleges and other educational institutions in Northern and Southern California, identifying opportunities for partnership and collaboration, and providing support and guidance to Umoja Community programs in the region. They will work closely with Umoja Community staff, college faculty, and students to ensure the effective implementation of Umoja Community programs and initiatives.
In addition, the Regional Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and facilitating trainings, workshops, and conferences for Umoja Community educators and staff. They will develop and deliver presentations, create educational materials, and provide ongoing support and guidance to educators involved in Umoja Community programs.
The Regional Coordinator will also be involved in data collection and analysis to assess the impact of Umoja Community programs, identify areas for improvement, and inform program development and expansion.
The role of Regional Coordinator - Northern and Southern California is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about educational equity, community engagement, and student success. Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, or related field

  • Experience with culturally responsive pedagogy, African-centered educational frameworks, or programs serving historically underrepresented student populations
  • Experience with program evaluation and data analysis

Working Conditions
This is a hybrid position with a combination of remote and on-site work. The Regional Coordinator will be expected to travel (50%-60%) to various college campuses and educational events within Northern and Southern California.

Salary Range
75,000 - 90,000
