Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: 3 years


1. Minimum Job-Specific Skills/Qualifications Required (in order of relative importance):

Equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree, preferably with major course work in computer science.

10+ years experience of IT overall experience.

7+ years experience designing and implementing large, enterprise-wide applications.

5+ years of experience as business systems analyst, eliciting and documenting requirements, documenting functional specifications, use cases, training materials, and conducting training. .

Experience with the principles of full life cycle systems design and development.

Experience with the system analysis and requirements gathering principles and techniques.

Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) tools and techniques.

Experience with quality assurance test methodologies and techniques.

Experience with the principles and techniques of systems implementation including conversion, data reconciliation, user training, and documentation.

Thorough knowledge of relational database management systems concepts.

Experience using SQL to write ad-hoc queries needed to support analysis and testing activities.

Extensive experience eliciting and documenting functional requirements, designing and documenting proposed business processes, and developing functional specifications.

Extensive experience developing and executing test plans and test scripts.

Extensive experience developing training materials.

Extensive experience conducting training staff in the use and operation of custom applications.

Excellent analytical capabilities and the ability to breakdown complex ideas into manageable pieces.

Excellent verbal, written, analytical and communication skills.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.

Demonstrated experience adhering to project plans and schedules.

Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Project, and Visio.

Additional Skills/Qualifications Desired:         

Recent experience within government agencies or public bodies with projects of a similar type.

Experience with tools used to develop web-site page designs, such as Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

Experience developing project using Agile development processes and techniques.

Experience using application development tools, including Clear Quest, Subversion, and Toad.

Knowledge of system test plan development and automated testing software.

Knowledge of other technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML).
