The Department of Resident Life serves a highly diverse population of approximately 12,500 undergraduate students living in traditional residence halls, apartments, and suites including some public/private partnership apartment communities. About 46% of all resident students are enrolled in twelve living-learning programs covering a wide array of academic areas. Resident Life employs a diverse workforce of 88 full-time and graduate staff members and about 600 undergraduate student staff members. General Description of Duties:
The Graduate Coordinator, under the supervision of the Coordinator of University Housing Partnerships, provides procedural, administrative, and programmatic support for the Office of University Housing Partnerships. Primary position responsibilities include supervising Off-Campus Living Consultants, managing the Off-Campus Housing Database, developing and delivering off-campus living resources, coordinating tours in the City of College Park with apartment complex property managers; and developing relationships with University-affiliated housing staff, and assisting with their occupancy management processes.
Preferred candidates will have experience in student advising and/or residence life within a university setting, along with skills in supervision, program development and management, facilitation, administration, organizational, written and verbal communication, customer service, self-motivation, and collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support and Administrative Functions
Maintain a minimum of 20 hours per week, adjusting the schedule as needed for required meetings and major events, such as Opening & Fall Welcome, University-affiliated housing activities, Off-Campus Living webinars and fairs, and student orientation)
Assist in the management of daily office operations of University Housing Partnerships unit, including office coverage, supply ordering, and maintaining the student staff desk area and informational table
Provide effective customer service to students, staff, faculty, campus partners, and visitors by responding to inquiries, sharing accurate information, and referring concerns or complaints to appropriate individuals during daily office operations and program or event planning
Provide prompt and professional support to students, staff and faculty, campus partners, and visitors via phone, email, and in-person interactions
Oversee the recruitment, interviewing, selection, training, evaluation, and general supervision of Off-Campus Living Consultants (undergraduate student staff)
Coordinate monthly meetings with Off-Campus Living Consultants to share office updates, review procedures, address staff questions and concerns, and facilitate ongoing professional development
Department & Campus Engagement
Attend department, unit, and supervisory meetings as scheduled
Participate as a member of department and university committees and represent the department at various campus and community functions as requested
Maintain current knowledge of department functions and on- and off-campus resources, event calendars, policies, and procedures in the interest of effective program planning and sharing of information
Develop and maintain positive relationships with campus partners and serve as a liaison to promote University-affiliated housing properties and off-campus living experience resources
Participate in department, division, or university committees as available and approved in coordination with the supervisor
Off-Campus Housing Services
Coordinate quarterly meetings with the supervisor and Off-Campus Partners representatives to review the Off-Campus Housing Database and local housing market trends
Work with Off Campus Partners in the maintenance of the Off-Campus Housing Database
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of the staff contacts, property details, and occupancy data for apartment complexes located near the University
Coordinate tours of nearby apartment complexes, enabling unit staff to connect with property representatives and gain knowledge of available housing options
Design and facilitate presentations and programs on off-campus living, serving as the primary contact for departmental and unit requests related to the student off-campus experience
Review and update print and electronic resources on the Off-Campus Housing Database and Off-Campus Housing Services website annually to ensure information is accurate, current, and comprehensive
Collaborate with the supervisor to develop, plan, promote, and execute the Off-Campus Living Fair, which may be held virtually and/or in person depending on the year
University-affiliated Housing
Maintain current knowledge about departmental residential policies, procedures, and the calendar related to student housing in the residence halls and leasing in University-affiliated housing (South Campus Commons, The Courtyards, Graduate Hill and Graduate Gardens, and The Discovery Housing)
Coordinate property tours with University-affiliated housing, allowing unit staff to connect with property representatives and learn about new initiatives
Utilize StarRez to support occupancy management for South Campus Commons and The Courtyards, including eligibility verification, lease transfers, and specialty housing requests.
Support education and outreach for the South Campus Commons and The Courtyards Apartment Selection Process, including facilitating in-person and virtual information sessions, hosting tabling events, and developing outreach materials
Participate in weekly meetings with Capstone On-Campus Management to review occupancy management at South Campus Commons and The Courtyards

Physical Demands:
Normal office environment - Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
Conditions of Employment:
This is a 12-month, live-off position that requires a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week, including some evening and occasional weekend hours. On occasion, additional hours may be required to perform job responsibilities. The position will begin in early to mid-July and end in late June of the following year. The peak period of activity for this position is November through February; requests for time away during this period may be limited based on unit needs.

Remuneration:
The term of this position is the beginning of July 2026 to the end of June 2027. This role has an annualized stipend of at least $35,426, which is the 2025-2026 base salary set by the Graduate School and may be adjusted annually. Graduate Assistants are eligible to enroll in university health insurance programs at the regular staff rate. Tuition remission is provided and is credited at the prevailing standard in-state credit hour rate at the time the course is taken. Tuition remission does not cover additional university fees. Enrollees in programs that do not follow the standard in-state tuition rate or maximum allowable credits per semester, summer sessions, or winter term will be responsible for associated fees and the difference in tuition costs.
