Job description

TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a full-time emergency medicine (EM) ultrasound director to join our emergency department team at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California. This role serves as core faculty for the HCA/Los Robles Emergency Medicine Residency Program and offers the opportunity to lead and grow the ultrasound division while maintaining an active clinical practice.
This position is ideal for an ultrasound fellowship-trained EM physician with a passion for resident education, faculty development, and bedside ultrasound. The ultrasound director will have protected administrative time to oversee ultrasound education and collaborate closely with residency and hospital leadership.
Position Profile
  • Los Robles Regional Medical Center: Level II trauma center
  • 382-bed acute care hospital
  • Core faculty role for a 3-year EM residency program (6 residents per class)
  • Dedicated simulation center and GME space
  • New ultrasound machines in the emergency department, including portable handheld probes
  • Access to ultrasound simulation trainers and online ultrasound curriculum
  • Opportunities to teach ultrasound across multiple GME programs, including IM, neurology, anesthesia, surgery, and cardiology

Responsibilities
  • Lead the ultrasound division for the emergency medicine residency program
  • Provide ultrasound education during resident didactics
  • Teach ultrasound during dedicated ultrasound rotations
  • Participate in faculty ultrasound development
  • Supervise and teach residents and medical students clinically
  • Maintain clinical shifts in the emergency department

Candidate Qualifications
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in emergency medicine
  • Completion of an emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship

Compensation
Competitive Compensation, with an estimated base pay range of $170/hour to $315/hour.
