SURVEYING INSTRUCTOR (POOL)
Faculty Part-Time
The position of Surveying Instructor is a Pooled Position and applications will be reviewed on an ongoing, as-needed basis.

As a Part-Time Surveying Instructor, you will be committed to facilitating learning using the most up to date pedagogy, technology, and discipline specific knowledge. All faculty are responsible for teaching in all modalities and keeping current in new modalities that develop in higher education. Although facilitating learning is the most important role of the faculty, the needs of learners are also served when faculty are engaged in service to the college and student support activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
  • Commensurate with State of Oregon requirements of respective academic and/or technical field:
    1. Associate degree or the equivalent
    2. At least 3 years of experience
    3. Hold a current Fundamental Land Surveyor (FLS) license
Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years community college teaching experience
  • A minimum of five years of verifiable experience related to the field with at least 18 months under a Professional Land Surveyor License (PLS)
  • Online instruction experience preferred, classroom teaching experience desirable
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred for CTE faculty
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, and one or all of the following software's: Civil 3D, Traverse PC, and RoadENG
  • Ability to properly Operate Total Stations, GPS equipment, and all other surveying support equipment.
  • Skilled in all survey calculations from cadastral surveying to road design, topographic map interpretations, platting, and drafting.
  • Knowledge of design, marking, and stakeout procedures.
  • Ability to write legal descriptions and surveys to ALTA/NSPS survey standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally communicate with team members, clients, students, and the public.
