About the Opportunity

Turner Staffing Group is hiring an Onsite Lab Technician to support metallurgical and geotechnical testwork for a mining client. The work will be performed both in Tucson and near Dragoon, Arizona. This project-based role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on technical work, lab environments, and contributing directly to operational improvements in mining.

This is a great opportunity to build skills in metallurgical testing, heap leach operations, and pilot-scale equipment.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate pilot-scale equipment, including an agglomeration drum

  • Perform column-scale and bench-scale testwork

  • Maintain microbial cultures in bioreactors by making media and changing spent culture media

  • Take routine measurements (pH, Eh, cell counts)

  • Collect samples from field locations including plant solutions and instrumentation

  • Maintain a clean, organized, safety-forward workspace

  • Enter, analyze, and present results using Microsoft Excel

  • Follow detailed procedures, SOPs, and safety protocols

What We're Looking For

  • Some technical experience or education in a STEM field

  • Strong commitment to safety and following established procedures

  • Ability to work independently with a scientific, problem-solving mindset

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Previous lab or pilot-scale experience is helpful (we will train on specific methods)

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Assignment Length: 12 months with potential extension
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. No visa sponsorship or relocation available.
