Job description

Requirement - Product Owner โ€“ U.S. P&C Insurance Domain

Location- Atlanta, GA (Remote)

Contract W2/1099

Experience Level: 8+ years overall, with at least 5 years in the U.S. P&C insurance domain

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Business Analyst / Product Owner (BA/PO) to join our team and drive the design, development, and delivery of innovative insurance technology solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in the U.S. Property & Casualty (P&C) domain โ€” preferably in commercial and specialty insurance โ€” with a deep understanding of the end-to-end insurance value chain, from quoting and underwriting to policy servicing and compliance.
This role requires a blend of domain knowledge, product thinking, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable deliverables for engineering and QA teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒAct as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment on scope, priorities, and deliverables.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒOwn the product backlog: define, refine, and prioritize user stories and epics based on business value and stakeholder input.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒLead requirements elicitation through stakeholder interviews, workshops, JAD sessions, and document findings in BRDs, FRDs, and user stories.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒCollaborate with underwriting, product, operations, and compliance teams to ensure business and regulatory requirements are accurately captured.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒPartner with development and QA teams to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and validate functional behavior during testing cycles.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒSupport UAT planning and execution, reviewing test cases, validating results, and facilitating sign-offs.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒContribute to MVP definition, product roadmap planning, and release prioritization.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒProactively identify business risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities; provide data-driven recommendations.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒParticipate in Agile ceremonies โ€” sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos, as a key member of the Scrum team.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒEnsure all deliverables adhere to compliance, regulatory, and operational standards across jurisdictions.

Required Skills & Experience
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒIn-depth knowledge of the U.S. P&C insurance domain, including products, processes, and regulatory landscape.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒHands-on experience across the policy lifecycle โ€” quoting, underwriting, binding, issuance, servicing, endorsements, and renewals.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒStrong understanding of underwriting, rating, and product configuration concepts.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒProven experience in requirements elicitation and documentation โ€” BRDs, FRDs, use cases, user stories, and process flows.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒDemonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a product backlog using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and deliver actionable insights.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills across business and technology teams.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒExperience working with commercial and specialty lines insurers is strongly preferred.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒFamiliarity with compliance and regulatory standards in the insurance domain.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒProficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Miro, and MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒExposure to insurance platform modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒExperience collaborating with offshore/onshore delivery models.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒBackground in data-driven insurance products, analytics, or workflow automation.
โ€ขโ€ƒโ€ƒCertifications such as CSPO, CBAP, or IIBA-AAC are a plus.
