Job description

Under minimum supervision, the Clerk Typist 4 will answer all patient related inquires via computer or telephone, direct and advise visitors to wards, departments and book on-call rooms for residents and family sleep rooms. The Clerk Typist 4 will provide training to other Information/Reception staff as needed. Performs all other duties as assigned.
 

1. Minimum Grade 12 
2. Medical  Terminology Levels 1 & 2 Certificate. (subject to testing) 
3. Previous office experience and/or experience with Meditech 
4. Proficient typing (minimum 35 wpm) and computer skills Word 2000 (testing of qualifications may be required) 
5. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) skills 
6. Demonstrated excellent telephone manner and customer service skills 
7. Excellent organizational skills and the ability for detail work 
8. Demonstrated ability to function within a very busy environment and maintain a friendly, courteous attitude 
9. Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision 
10. Excellent public relations skills 
11. Conflict resolution skill
