Plastic Surgery Opportunity

Iowa


A hospital system in Iowa is seeking a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for a full-time locum opportunity with an initial focus on call coverage and future clinic/OR responsibilities.


Compensation: $3115 for 24 hours on call w/ 4 hours gratis


Position Details

Specialty: Plastic Surgery

Practice Setting: Hospital-based

Coverage Type: Full-time locum coverage

Start Date: ASAP

Initial Focus:

Call coverage only

Clinic and OR responsibilities may be added later


Schedule

Full-time coverage needed

Monday–Friday schedule

Clinic hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

36 patient contact hours per week

2–4 OR/procedure days per week once full practice coverage begins

Coverage options:

7 days on / 7 days off

OR 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Must be available for call coverage by July 10


Clinical Responsibilities

Trauma call

ER consults

In-office consults and procedures

Reconstructive collaboration with breast surgeons

Soft tissue call coverage

EMTALA call coverage


Practice Environment

Inpatient responsibilities at multiple hospital locations

EMR: Epic

Teaching opportunity available

Surgical and cosmetic patient population of all ages


Support Staff

1 Physician onsite

1 APP onsite

No APP supervision required

1:1 nursing support

Medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy available onsite


Patient Volume

Approximately 16+ clinic visits per full day

Appointment lengths:

15–30 minutes


Requirements

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon required

Active Iowa license or active IMLC required

LOQ must be provided at name clear if using IMLC

Must be experienced

Clean malpractice and background history required

Must be available for either:

7 on / 7 off schedule

OR 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Must be ready for call coverage by July 10


Additional Information

Call-only coverage initially, with potential expansion into clinic and OR coverage

Travel reimbursement available within facility guidelines

No reimbursement for application or credentialing fees

Epic EMR experience beneficial
