To thrive as a TV Writing Intern, you need strong creative writing skills, a solid grasp of storytelling techniques, and often coursework or a degree in screenwriting, film, or a related field. Familiarity with industry-standard script formatting software like Final Draft and an understanding of television production workflows are typically expected. Initiative, openness to feedback, and effective collaboration make an intern stand out in a writers' room environment. These skills and qualities are crucial for contributing to creative projects, learning from professionals, and building a foundation for a career in television writing.

A TV writing internship is a temporary position designed to give aspiring writers hands-on experience in the television industry. Interns typically assist writers, producers, and showrunners by performing tasks such as script reading, note-taking, research, and administrative duties. This role provides valuable insight into the script development process, writers' room dynamics, and the overall workflow of a TV production. Collegiate TV production experience is not necessary. Internship includes shadowing and working alongside multiple team members to learn many different skills in the newsroom. Interns could shadow and work alongside producers, photographers, reporters, digital team members, and other newsroom team members, learning about writing, researching, photojournalism, video editing, and producing newscasts.

This is an unpaid internship and must be done in conjunction with a degree-based program, for college credit. This internship is designed for college students who are in the early to middle stages of their collegiate careers.
