DESCRIPTION: Care for kindergarten through fifth grade students in the Before/After School and BOOST Child Care program, including developing and conducting activities, supervising students, and collecting fees. Ensure a safe, healthy, and secure environment for children.
SALARY: Classified Grade H, starting at $18.58 depending on recent relevant experience. Tuesday-Friday 3:00pm-5:00pm. Not eligible for benefits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise students, ensuring a safe, healthy, and secure environment.
  • Assist in planning and preparing materials for daily activities.
  • Assist children with homework.
  • Prepare and clean-up after snacks. Ensure good hygiene is followed during snack time.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment for children by cleaning the facility, sanitizing surfaces, and putting toys and games away.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings to discuss issues and concerns about children and to get updates regarding changes within the District.
  • Receive tuition payments from parents when necessary. In addition, handout and receive registration materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications required within 1 month after hire.
  • 15 clock hours of Child Care training required annually.
  • Operating knowledge of computer and copy machine preferred.
  • Operating knowledge of die cut machine, VCR/TV, paper cutter, hole puncher, microwave, coffeepot, hot plate, and iron required within 1 month after hire.
  • Communication, basic writing, interpersonal, basic reading, behavior management, and child care skills.
  • Ability to deal, empathize, and have patience with children and children with special needs.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Experience working with children.
