Job description

About the Role

As a Senior Copywriter - Temp, you'll concept, write, and help bring integrated creative campaigns to life across two major financial-services brands.

The work will span high-level campaign development as well as hands-on execution across TV, video, display, and social. One project is centered on a scripted, live-action Formula 1 campaign, with creative developed around major race events in Austin and Las Vegas. The second focuses on documentary-style content featuring small-business owners, using existing footage to shape and extend stories across multiple channels.

In this role, you'll partner closely with art directors, creative directors, producers, project managers, and other cross-functional team members. You should be equally comfortable developing big conceptual ideas, writing scripts and campaign messaging, and getting into the details to refine and adapt creative through production.

This is a full-time freelance assignment requiring approximately 40 hours per week. The assignment is expected to begin as soon as possible and continue through approximately the end of November.

Responsibilities
  • Develop compelling creative concepts and copy for integrated campaigns across TV, video, display, and social.
  • Write scripts, campaign messaging, headlines, taglines, social copy, and other supporting creative assets.
  • Partner closely with art directors to develop cohesive concepts that work both visually and verbally.
  • Translate high-level strategic and creative direction into polished, production-ready work.
  • Contribute to both early-stage conceptual development and detailed execution as campaigns move forward.
  • Support scripted, live-action campaign work, including short-form television and video spots.
  • Help shape documentary-style stories using interview content and previously captured footage.
  • Review existing footage and creative materials to identify strong narrative opportunities and new content extensions.
  • Adapt core campaign ideas across multiple formats, platforms, placements, and audience touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with creative directors, producers, project managers, and account partners throughout concepting, production, editing, and delivery.
  • Participate in creative reviews, respond thoughtfully to feedback, and refine work quickly.
  • Maintain consistency in brand voice, messaging, and creative quality across deliverables.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-moving environment and deliver strong creative under tight timelines.
About YouThe essentials:
  • 5+ years of copywriting experience within an advertising agency, creative agency, or integrated marketing environment.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing conceptual campaign work across multiple formats, particularly video, TV, social, and digital.
  • Demonstrated experience developing high-level creative concepts and carrying them through execution.
  • Strong experience writing scripts and supporting live-action or video production.
  • Comfortable working across both traditional advertising and digital or social content.
  • Able to move easily between big-picture thinking and detailed, hands-on copy development.
  • Experience partnering closely with art directors and developing integrated creative as part of a writer-art director team.
  • Strong understanding of the production process and the ability to refine work as creative moves from concept through shoot, edit, and final delivery.
  • Able to work effectively with existing footage, interview content, and previously produced assets to shape new stories and creative executions.
  • Clear, concise, and persuasive writing skills, with strong attention to tone, structure, and detail.
  • Able to interpret creative briefs quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and develop relevant creative solutions.
  • Confident presenting and explaining creative ideas to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback, exploring alternatives, and producing multiple creative options when needed.
  • Highly collaborative, organized, and dependable.
  • Able to work independently while remaining closely connected to the broader creative and production teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple deliverables and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available to work approximately 40 hours per week through the end of November.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working on large national brands or highly visible integrated campaigns.
  • Experience with financial services, payments, small-business, sports, or event-related campaigns.
  • Experience developing creative for live events or culturally relevant moments.
  • Experience working with documentary-style, interview-led, or unscripted content.
  • Familiarity with Formula 1, motorsports, or sports marketing.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed teams across multiple U.S. time zones.
Location

This role is open to candidates located in the United States. Candidates may be based on either the East Coast or West Coast, although availability during Eastern Time business hours is preferred to support close collaboration with the project team.
