Description
Hofstra University's Lawrence Herbert School of Communication is pleased to invite applications for an adjunct faculty position (adjunct instructor or adjunct assistant/associate/full professor) in the Department of Radio, Television, Film to teach courses in Television Production.
Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis and will be kept on file and reviewed as courses become available.
The preferred candidate will demonstrate extensive experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas of television production and/or television studies:
• Television Production: Experience in multi-camera or single-camera production, in studio and/or field settings, across one or more phases of production (including pre-production and post-production). Expertise may be broad or focused on a specific sub-discipline, such as sound, graphics, or lighting.
• Television Studies: Experience in the critical analysis of television content, including industry-wide perspectives or specialized knowledge of particular genres or sectors (e.g., sports, entertainment, streaming platforms).
Qualifications
  • Hold a terminal degree or a master's degree in a related discipline, and/or possess significant professional experience in the field.
  • Demonstrate experience in contemporary multi-camera studio and/or field television production and/or post-production, with the ability to develop curriculum in television production, entertainment, and news production.
  • Provide evidence of substantial professional experience in television production.

Salary/Salary Range
$1,458-$1,839 per credit hour

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
