Job Summary/Description:  

KCBD is looking for a talented photojournalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a creative shooter and editor who coordinates with producers, reporters, and other team members to create news content across multiple platforms. We will invest in, train, and provide opportunities for the winning candidate to grow and prosper.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Be a team player
- Shoot high-quality video for daily news stories and live broadcasts
- Understand and execute proper lighting, framing, and audio
- Edit video for broadcast and digital
- Conduct interviews
- Cover breaking news, general assignments, and feature stories
- Maintain equipment
- Communicate with the newsroom, collaborate with teammates

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Empathy for others. A team-builder, with a dedication to getting it right and serving our community.
- Proficiency in shooting with ENG cameras
- Knowledge of video editing, sequencing, and visual storytelling
- Prior professional videography work preferred
- Degree in journalism/communications/English or equivalent background preferred
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Availability to work various hours as breaking news or special events warrant; but understand we have a sizeable staff to spread across all dayparts.
