Position Summary
**WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION FROM ALL STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF WORK STUDY AWARD**
Anderson School of Management is seeking qualified candidates to apply for tutoring positions supporting the Anderson Learning Lab. Learning Lab tutors will serve as on-site and/or virtual liaisons for students needing help with exam preparation, projects, and homework.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparing students with fundamental skills and comprehension of Math, Economics, Accounting, Finance, and additional management subjects
  • Using various tutoring approaches based on student needs
  • Tutor individually or in groups to review principles, solve problems, review tests, go over various strategies for finance and accounting, and help students develop a variety of study strategies
  • Create and host various workshops such as exam reviews
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Work schedules are flexible and will be worked out with the supervisor before beginning employment.
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A letter grade of a B+ or higher in the classes that they will be tutoring.
  • At least 2 - 3 Upper Division Accounting or Finance Classes completed
  • Pursuing either an Undergraduate Degree or Graduate Degree at the Anderson School of Management or a closely related field
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with near-peers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving.
  • Reliable and responsible while having the flexibility to adapt to fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to cooperate successfully as a member of a team.
