Job description

Math Teachers Wanted for After-School and Summer Tutoring!

Sylvan Learning Center is looking for fun, dedicated tutors  to help and inspire students. We are currently looking for tutors who are able to teach Elementary, Middle School, and High School math.

Sylvan creates individualized learning plans for students of all abilities. Working with groups of only three students, you will be responsible for leading instruction and motivating students to be successful. There is no lesson plan to create, no homework to grade, no parent-conferencing, and scheduling is flexible. Enjoy all of the benefits of teaching, without any of the downsides!

What you should know:

  • If you enjoy working with and inspiring students, this is the job for you. (We want you to be happy here!)
  • You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach
  • Tutor students in a small group setting. There will be no more than 4 students per tutor
  • Most tutors choose to work 2-5 days/week
  • School Year Hours Availability: Monday - Thursday 4:30pm-7:30pm, Saturdays 9:30am - 1:30pm
  • ADDITIONAL Summer Hours (June 8 - Aug 6) Availability: Monday - Thursday 9:30am - 12:30pm
  • This is NOT a remote position

Job Requirements:

• Teaching credentials preferred or four year degree in math or related field required

• Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred

• Ability to multi-task

• Knowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phones

• Knowledge of tablet, ipads, computers preferred

• MUST BE GREAT WITH KIDS!
