Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Aerospace Laser Tracker Operator to join our growing aerospace manufacturing and inspection team. This position is responsible for performing high-accuracy dimensional inspections of aerospace tooling, assemblies, and manufactured components using portable laser tracking equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections using Laser Tracker equipment.
  • Set up and align inspection equipment for complex aerospace parts, tooling, and assemblies.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and customer specifications.
  • Compare inspection results to design requirements and identify nonconformances.
  • Generate detailed inspection reports and documentation.
  • Assist Manufacturing and Engineering with troubleshooting dimensional issues.
  • Verify compliance with customer, AS9100, and internal quality requirements.
  • Maintain calibration status and proper care of inspection equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and root cause investigations.
  • Travel to customer facilities when required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating Laser Tracker systems in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with CAD models and inspection software.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of aerospace inspection experience.
  • Experience with portable metrology equipment.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with First Article Inspection (AS9102).
  • Experience working with Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, General Atomics, Raytheon, or other aerospace customer requirements.
