Job description

Responsibilities As a Turnaround Engineer you will provide expert advice on the management and execution of Turnaround (Shutdowns) of assets in which maintenance and capital projects activities are executed. The primary objective is to ensure compliance with the required HSE and technical standards while ensuring that the Turnarounds meets the business needs in terms of scope, duration, timing and costs. Your work will include the following: Performing reviews of the Turnaround activities, business processes compared with the standard and recommend areas for improvement at every stage of the Turnaround cycle.

Delivering training and coaching to the asset organisations to enable them to close the performance gaps and sustainably improve. Contributing to Turnaround delivery content, standards, knowledge and capabilities. Requirements You should have a BSc, or equivalent, in an engineering discipline and have substantial experience of Turnaround management on operating assets - exposure to upstream oil and gas environment would be an advantage.

Further, we are looking for talented self-motivate individuals with an enquiring mind who is an excellent team player with good communication skills and adept at working in multi-discipline teams and in a virtual environment. You must have proven functional ability combined with commercial awareness and strong coaching skills. You will have detailed knowledge and experience in the following: Leading and working within large Turnaround teams in the petrochemical industry or similar.

Defining, planning and executing Turnarounds within integrated, multidiscipline delivery teams. Participating in or leading Turnaround reviews, audits, peer assists across range of Turnarounds in order to identify gaps and make prioritised recommendations for sustainable improvement. Providing expert advice and coaching, as a Subject Matter Expert, to staff in Turnaround management activities to improved performance and compliance with the standard approach.

Customer and stakeholder engagement at all level within projects, assets and operating units to embed the required behaviour within the organisation. Developing and Maintaining networks within global Turnaround community, and manages many interfaces across departments and divisions. Contributing to knowledge management and development & maintenance of Turnaround standards, practices and tools within the Global Centre of Excellence, adding value to the business.
