Territory Turf Products Category Sales Manager

Ewing Outdoor Supply

Territory - West

Full-Time | Field-Based | Competitive Salary + Ewing P4P

Territory Turf and Ornamental Sales Manager will serve as the key lead in the territory, responsibilities include P&L management and driving revenue and margin growth in the Maintenance & Agronomics Division, a critical growth and investment space for Ewing's continued success. This position plays a pivotal role in expanding the territory footprint, working closely with their regional agronomic and sportsfield teams (direct reports in AZ, CO, CA, WA, OR). Primary responsibility is setting strategic direction for growth thru collaboration with Territory President, Divisional Vice Presidents, and Regional Managers. Through these efforts, the Sales Manager will be responsible for the sustained growth of this dynamic and strategically important segment.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • Senior Level 5 Years or More Turf and Ornamental Agronomics Category Experience.
  • Must be entrepreneurial, structured, disciplined, collaborative and communicative.
  • Proven experience in turfgrass management, horticulture, agronomy, or a related field.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage an assigned market.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within market.
  • Bonus: Certified Crop Advisor (CCA), pesticide applicator license, or similar credentials

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for turf and ornamental clients, including golf courses, sports fields, municipalities, and commercial properties.
  • Provide expert guidance on product selection, application timing, and integrated pest management strategies.
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to meet revenue goals.
  • Conduct site visits, diagnose plant health issues, and recommend tailored solutions.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients through trust, responsiveness, and results.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes

Leadership & Communication

  • Conduct yourself with professionalism in all communication with fellow employees, customers, vendors, management, and Field Support Center staff.
  • Attend and participate in company meetings.
  • Read and contribute to Company communications, including (but not limited to) the Branch Briefs, E-News Alert, President's Message, regional newsletters, etc.
  • Champion Ewing culture and commitment throughout all business activities.
  • Communicate all operational and customers service issues with the Territory President Divisional VP’s, Divisional Sales Manager and Regional Manager.
  • Participate and represent Ewing in relevant national and regional organizations, associations, and activities.
  • Educate territory staff and customers on best practices and product knowledge of Agronomic Products.
  • Execute the annual sales plan in accordance with the Company's strategic objectives under the direction of the Territory President
  • Adopt and master the use of basic company tools and systems including technology, software, email, etc.
  • Always provide superior customer service.

Business Development

  • Execute and attend territory, divisional and regional marketing and business development events, including educational seminars and hands-on workshops, vendor product days, customer appreciation events, barbeques, etc.
  • Service, support and grow existing accounts and establish new accounts in your sales territory
  • Write custom sales program for customers to specify Ewing products as best practices on their projects.
  • Research and establish optimal territory, division and regional pricing and product offering on Agronomic Products.
  • Responsible for setting sales and product use strategy for the Territory to ensure that the territory always maintains the correct products at the correct stocking levels led locally by regional agronomic and sportsfield teams.
  • Collaborate with Managers and Sales team on marketing efforts if necessary.
  • Grow Revenue and associated Profits of select assigned Ewing customers and prospects.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with customers, by conducting customer and prospect visits to achieve area sales objectives.
  • Provide support for branches and all sales team members in serving customers and achieving sales objectives.
  • Perform sales development activities, including (but not limited to) basic project quoting and telephone, print and email marketing campaigns.
  • Work with regional and technical service team on customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; and making recommendations to management.
  • Responsible for growing product sales in territory as designated by the Territory President
  • Extensive Agronomic product and sales knowledge, where you fully understand and can effectively communicate with customers about Ewing products features, benefits, uses, and support needs.
