Job description

Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking applicants to fill adjunct teaching positions for the Fall 2026 semester: August 24, 2026 - December 18, 2026. Positions are available to teach multiple sections of introductory algebra and statistics on our campus in Lincoln, NE.
MATH 1100 College Algebra (3 credits)
A study of functions from algebraic, graphical, numerical, and modeling perspectives. The functions are chosen from among linear, polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic.
The successful candidate will be offered up to three sections from the following list:
  • Tuesday/Thursday 10:20 am - 11:35 am
  • Tuesday/Thursday 12:20 pm - 1:35 pm
  • Tuesday/Thursday 2:20 pm - 3:35 pm

MATH 1300 Statistics (3 credits)
An introduction to statistics concepts with an emphasis on applications. Topics include descriptive statistics, discrete and continuous probability distributions, the central limit theorem, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and linear regression.
The successful candidate will be offered up to three sections from the following list:
  • Tuesday/Thursday 8:35 am - 9:50 am
  • Tuesday/Thursday 10:20 am - 11:35 am
  • Tuesday/Thursday 2:20 pm - 3:35 pm

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in:
    • Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, OR
    • a different field with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics or statistics
  • Teaching experience is preferred
  • Background check and official transcripts needed after job is offered and prior to employment
