Job description

Salary Range$21.09-$26.90Job Posting End Date - Applications will no longer be accepted starting09-12-2026Job Summary

Performs responsible technical work by assisting with the design, layout and fabrication of all traffic control and special signage manufactured for installation in the City. Involved in vehicle lettering, window layouts, and custom signage using a computerized graphics design arts station and through hand drawn artwork. Performs general maintenance on all machines pertinent to the job and maintains an inventory of all supplies associated with sign fabrication and street name work orders. Required to work weekends and holidays to assist in special events, required to perform some sign installations. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Signs and Markings Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate/G.E.D. and 6 months of experience working with Sai Flexi Software or in Sign Fabrication is required; or an Associate's degree in the graphic arts field required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Florida Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) or Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification required within 6 months of hire.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
