The average salary for a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer, sometimes referred to as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), typically ranges from $33,000 to $50,000 per year, depending on location, experience, and level within the organization. Entry-level salaries are generally on the lower end, but officers can earn more with overtime, night shifts, and promotions to higher pay bands. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a TSA officer, and why are they important?

The starting salary for TSA officers is determined by the pay band (typically D or E) and location, as certain areas offer locality pay adjustments to account for cost of living differences.
