POSITION TITLE: Part-Time Rental Associate
Manager's Position: Store Manager

RESULT STATEMENT: THIS POSITION IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR PRODUCING THE FOLLOWING RESULT:
The Rental Associate oversees the rental department, product and people. This position requires a self-motivated individual who thrives in a somewhat chaotic environment. From spring through fall, this department is exceptionally busy. You will be required to devise plans for preventative maintenance, orchestrate seasonal moves of outdoor product, and set behavioral examples of your expectations. This position will require strong people skills, especially in communication with internal and external customers. Strong salesmanship skills are not necessarily required, but a desire to teach, both customers and employees alike, is required. Strong business acumen is encouraged as you will be working within budgets.

WORK LISTING:
Exceed the needs and expectations of the customer on and off the sales floor.
Be able to lift up to 63lbs on regular bases.
Product stocking in the automotive, outdoor power tools, and power pad.
Demonstrate features and benefits of outdoor power equipment.
Suggest additional product to complete the customers anticipated needs.
Cut keys.
Fill Propane, in a timely fashion, as requested via radio.
Identify the need for maintenance or repair of all rental equipment.
Identify relevant information for customer warranty information and registration.
Cashier at the small engine or rental counter.
Respond to outside phone calls, in a timely manner, as well as interior requests for assistance.
Assemble required equipment as needed.
Demonstrate coached listening skills and product knowledge.
Basic knowledge of conflict resolution or ability to maintain calm demeanor.
Able to operate fork truck or (willing to train).
Sweep and clean workstations every day as many times as needed.
Any other reasonable tasks as set forth by management.
Tactical Work:
  1. Greet customers, provide assistance, ask questions and listen to identify their needs and direct to right product or department.
  2. Describe products and explain their use and operation and care of products to customers.
  3. Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
  4. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning on all rental equipment.
  5. Identify cleaning or replacement opportunities on rental equipment.
  6. Identify safety hazards on rental equipment.
  7. Maintain clean and visually appealing department.
  8. Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, know how to mitigate these situations.
  9. Will ensure that merchandise is rotated, in good sellable condition and is not outdated.
