Job description

Job Summary

The Part-Time Field Marketing Associate with The Restaurant Store (TRS) is responsible for promoting the value and advantages of shopping with TRS through professional, concise, and customer-focused communication across the local market area. This role serves as a positive representative of the local branch while supporting business growth through field marketing, lead generation, customer outreach, data collection, and indirect sales strategies. The Field Marketing Associate will contribute to operational and sales objectives by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing customer relationships, accumulating market intelligence, and collaborating closely with local sales and leadership teams. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling while requiring consistent engagement with customers, prospects, and local businesses to support branch sales goals.

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a satisfactory level.   • Effectively communicate with TRS customers and prospects, including foodservice business owners, operators, and purchasing decision-makers.
  • Conduct outbound calls to prospective, inactive, and existing customers to generate leads, schedule visits, promote products and services, and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Utilize company software, CRM platforms, and technology tools to support customer needs, document interactions, track leads, and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Accumulate, analyze, and maintain customer, prospect, and market data to identify sales opportunities, track trends, and support business development initiatives.
  • Plan and execute efficient travel routes to regularly visit local businesses and maximize customer engagement within assigned territories.
  • Increase local branch sales by converting new prospects into active customers and re-engaging inactive and lapsed customers into consistent purchasers with TRS.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback, buying trends, market intelligence, and competitor activity to local sales and leadership teams.
  • Collect and report relevant competitor pricing and invoice information to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records of field activities, customer interactions, lead generation efforts, and sales opportunities through established reporting processes.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of TRS products, services, and industry trends to effectively support customer needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Remote Work Qualifications
  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, or WY). H-1B Visa Sponsorship Not Available, W2 only.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail, field marketing, sales, business development, food service, customer outreach, or a related field.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems to manage customer relationships, track leads, and maintain business-to-business communications.
