We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
SALARY RANGE: $65000 - $70000 with bonus potential and benefits.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Operating General Manager (OGM) is the on-site leader fully accountable for the performance, culture, financial health, and day-to-day operation of The Brackish Bar & Lounge. This is a hands-on operating role for a self-directed restaurant leader who can stabilize and grow the business, build a dependable team, strengthen resident and guest engagement, and run the operation with clear accountability under the strategic oversight of Troon and property leadership.
PRIMARY OUTCOMES
  • Deliver a consistently welcoming, safe, clean, and resident-focused dining experience
  • Build a stable team with clear expectations, dependable scheduling, and strong shift leadership
  • Improve sales, event participation, cost controls, and overall financial performance
  • Create repeatable operating systems that can support future locations

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Business & Financial Ownership
  • Own Brackish's overall business performance and operating results
  • Read, interpret, and explain monthly P&L statements with variance commentary and corrective plans
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and forecasts in partnership with leadership and accounting
  • Manage labor, food, beverage, purchasing, and other controllable costs to approved targets
  • Ensure invoices, deposits, cash controls, inventory records, and financial documentation are accurate and timely
  • Use sales and product-mix data to improve pricing, menu performance, purchasing, and profitability

People & Culture Leadership
  • Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, coach, and retain a capable front- and back-of-house team
  • Set clear performance standards and address attendance, conduct, sanitation, and service issues promptly
  • Develop shift leaders and department leads who can run the operation in the OGM's absence
  • Create a respectful, accountable, and service-minded culture aligned with Troon and community expectations
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, corrective action, and compliance matters

Operations, Compliance & Guest Experience
  • Lead daily restaurant, bar, patio, event, and banquet operations with a visible presence during key service periods
  • Ensure consistent execution of food quality, beverage standards, hospitality, cleanliness, and opening/closing procedures
  • Maintain compliance with food-safety, alcohol-service, workplace-safety, wage-and-hour, cash-handling, and company policies
  • Oversee ordering, inventory, receiving, storage, vendor relationships, and loss prevention
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and use feedback to improve service and resident satisfaction
  • Ensure Toast and other operating systems are used accurately and consistently

Sales, Events & Community Partnership
  • Build strong relationships with property leadership, lifestyle teams, residents, committees, and community partners
  • Partner on event calendars, menus, pricing, staffing plans, production quantities, and post-event reviews
  • Grow restaurant traffic and revenue through resident engagement, promotions, and well-executed events
  • Coordinate with marketing partners to keep menus, hours, promotions, and communications accurate and timely

Leadership, Communication & Autonomy
  • Operate independently with sound judgment while maintaining proactive communication with leadership
  • Identify risks early, present practical solutions, and follow through to completion
  • Provide concise weekly updates on sales, labor, staffing, events, guest feedback, and operational priorities
  • Be available for evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on business needs

MULTI-UNIT GROWTH PATH
A successful OGM may be considered for expanded responsibility across additional food-and-beverage locations based on sustained performance, including:
  • Brackish consistently meeting financial, labor, service, sanitation, and guest-satisfaction targets
  • A reliable on-site leadership team that can operate without constant OGM intervention
  • Core systems, checklists, training standards, reporting, and controls that are documented and repeatable
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders and manage through others
  • Leadership approval of expanded title, responsibilities, and compensation

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of progressive restaurant leadership, including General Manager or comparable responsibility; multi-unit or opening experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of full-service restaurant and bar operations, staffing, inventory, events, and guest recovery
  • Demonstrated financial literacy including P&L review, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and prime-cost controls
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, hold accountable, and retain hourly and management employees
  • Experience with community, club, HOA, resort, or resident-driven stakeholders preferred
  • ServSafe Manager and responsible alcohol-service certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
